Do I really need an introductory first post?
Just me talking about the "why" of this. The answer, by the way, is yes.
TL;DR - Yes. There, I saved you a bunch of time. Now watch cat videos on the internet. Or if you’d generously spend more of your time on this blog, I hope you have fun!
The question is quite philosophical - almost an existential threat to this post. If the answer were no, you wouldn’t be reading this. But you are reading this - (or else you’d be hallucinating, which would be a cause for concern) - and since the answer seems to be yes, yay!
I think things need to have a purpose, vision or one of those important-sounding words. And it’s alright if the direction changes down the line; at least you had one.
Like clothes - you need to be wearing some in the first place, to change them. Else you’re just running around naked, wondering where the fuck you are, and not knowing why people are running away from you.
Things need a purpose because this universe is meaningless, and writing a personal blog doesn’t seem to make any difference in the grand scheme.
Which isn’t what I set out to do anyway. What I do want to do, is to write often.
Substack seems simple (and cool). Instagram is a vanity fair; Twitter is bonkers; LinkedIn is - something, and does anyone even open Facebook these days?
And you might question, “Mohit, why not write on Medium?”.
Good question; I guess we’ll never know.
That’s about it - this first post is necessary, as it documents the purpose of this blog. I want to write and not let ideas, and thoughts, die in the already crowded graveyard of things that withered away, waiting to see the light of day. And hopefully, I’ll learn something from this. Maybe I’ll look back and think - “hm, words”, or maybe not.
If you’ve made it so far, here’s a slice of 🍕 for you.
I hope your chai stays hot and that your biscuit doesn’t drown.
